Mt. Vernon Office

Scott
George

Scott George grew up in Southwest Missouri. He
graduated from Mt. Vernon High School and the University of
Missouri at Rolla with a degree in computer science. His early career in the computer
information systems field gave Scott experience with several major industries across the
United States.
In 1991, Scott returned to Southwest Missouri as General Manager at Mid-America
Hearing Centers. To better
understand the issues confronting patients with hearing problems, Scott is a Licensed
Hearing Instrument Specialist and is Board Certification in Hearing Instrument
Sciences.
In addition to his responsibilities at Mid-America, Scott is active on hearing health care and
small business issues at the local, state, national, and international levels. His current activities include:
President of the Missouri Hearing Society, Governor
on the Board of the International Hearing Society,
Chair of the newly formed Missouri
Small Business Regulatory Fairness Board, President of the local Economic Development Corporation, and the
NFIB Missouri Leadership Council. Scott has also served:
on the Mt. Vernon Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, as a past president
of the Mt. Vernon Rotary Club and Chair of the Missouri Licensing Board and many other organizations.
Scott's family includes his wife, Charlotte, two children and five grandchildren.

Glenda Gillaspy, BC - HIS |
Glenda Gillaspy was born and raised in the
Ozarks. She and her
husband live on a farm and raise cattle.
She says she thinks the people in the Ozarks are some of the
friendliest people in the world.
She became a Licensed Hearing Instrument Specialist in May
1993 and received Board Certification in Hearing Instrument Sciences
in June 1995. Glenda is
also a member of the International Hearing Society.
Glenda managed the Branson office for over 5 years, then in
2001 returned to the Mt. Vernon Office as Supervisor.
In 2005, she became Supervisor over all Mid America Hearing
Center locations. She
says she enjoys going to the Liberty and Branson offices on her
regular visits.
Glenda is definitely a “people person” and
considers it a privilege to be able to help folks to hear better,
especially as her own father is severely hearing impaired.
As a member of Halltown Baptist Church, Glenda teaches a
Sunday School class and sings and plays bass guitar for the Praise
Team there. She says
music is a special part of her life.
Glenda’s family includes 2 sons, 2 grandsons, and 3
granddaughters, ranging in age from 11 to 19.
She proudly says that her oldest grandson begins college this
fall on a full scholarship to play basketball.

Sheila Shelton, HIS
|
Sheila Shelton has lived on a small
farm northeast of Mt. Vernon, MO since 1977. She began
training as a Hearing Specialist in 2000 and passed her Missouri
State Licensing exams in June 2002.
Sheila wanted to go into the hearing profession because she
has always loved helping people. Sheila says of her work,
"It is very rewarding to know I have helped someone live a more
fulfilling life because they are hearing better."
Sheila and husband Chris have a daughter, April who lives in
St. Louis; and a son, Sam, who lives in Kansas City.
In her spare time, Sheila likes to travel, hike, and go
antiquing. She also loves to cook and collects recipe
books. Sheila is active in her church, and volunteers for the
Missouri Veterans Home and the American Cancer Society's Relay for
Life.

Branson Office

Alaina Orr, HISIT, AAS-HHC |
Alaina
Orr, HIS, AAS-HHC is the new Hearing Instrument Specialist at the Mid-America Hearing Center in Branson,
Missouri. Alaina received her Associates of Science Degree in
Hearing Health Care in 2005 from Arkansas State University in
Mountain Home.

Troy Adrian, HIS

Please
welcome Troy Adrian, HIS in his new role at Mid-America Hearing
Center in Liberty. Troy
recently became a Licensed Hearing Instrument Specialist, and will
now be serving you as the hearing professional in the Liberty
office.
Troy has been with Mid-America
Hearing Center as a Lab Technician since 2000. Many of you may have
already met Troy when visiting the office.
Troy will also continue to serve you by assembling your aids
on the premises.
In addition, he is qualified to repair most hearing aid
models.
