HISTORY
Mid-America Hearing Center is the pioneer of the custom, same-day, full shell
hearing aid. It was founded in 1988 in Mt. Vernon, Missouri at Mid-America
Dental & Hearing Center and currently has 4 locations Mid-America Hearing Centers follow the same tradition of quality health care,
reasonable prices, same-day-service and Ozark hospitality first established, in 1979, by
Drs. Harold E. George and Frederick C. Lauer as the Mid-America Denture
Clinic. The Dental Center now shares that facility with Mid-America Hearing
Center and is called Mid-America Dental & Hearing Center. The George family is still actively involved in the company. Dr. George's widow, Betty,
serves on the Board of Directors. Scott George, their son, is a Board Certified Hearing
Instrument Specialist and General Manager for all non-professional services.
Nationally known, Mid-America Dental and Hearing Center was included in a feature article on the front page of the Wall Street Journal on December 9, 1993. A visit to Mid-America is a long standing tradition for some families. The well maintained, park-like setting has drawn many patients to visit for an extended period of time. There is free RV parking in the Mt. Vernon campground where patients can stay while getting services at Mid-America Dental & Hearing Center. Many patients can pay for their Ozark Mountain Country Vacation with the savings at our facilities.
